Dizzy Blondes:

No spinning, due to sinus issues.

Strategy:

Look at life's big picture and stop interfering with your own happiness. Don't block your own happiness by staying caught up in anger or bad feelings. And you have to make decisions about this for the long run: will a short-term gain be worth a longer-term loss? Or vice-versa?

Put a Lid On It:

Pickled beets in process. Nom nom nom! Layer any hard root veggie--turnips, beets, rutabagas--in the crock pot over night with a puddle of water in the bottom on low overnight. Then cook  any way you like.

Aw Shoot!

FINALLY back to running and planking. Down 19 pounds.

Something I Really Like:

Pic's Peanut Butter from New Zealand. Ohhhhhhhh yeeessss.

The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle Earth. Find the app in the Mac online app store.

Blather:

A class on Skype! Life is sunny! I killed my Fitbit and replaced it.

The Smoothie I Prefer

1 frozen banana OR 1 fresh banana + 5 ice cubes
2 cups almond milk
2 TB PB2 with or without chocolate
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup homemade yogurt
2 TB homemade raspberry freezer jam

Blend until smooth. This keeps you hydrated when sick, restores you after exercise, gives you biotics to keep digestion sound, and also gives 2+ servings of fruit.

Recipe: Chicken Soup Done Right

Chicken Soup Done Right

1 whole chicken, preferably organic. Include giblets
Herbs you like--tarragon, herbs de provence
1 onion and
1 carrot
celery
water
crock pot

1. Wash chicken and giblets; cover generously with water in crock pot. Add herbs to taste; cook overnight on HIGH.
2. Next morning: Remove bird and giblets. Place on platter to cool. Feed guts to dogs.
3. Turn off pot and allow broth to cool.
4. 1 hour later: Debone bird, discard bones where pets cannot get at them. Feed skin to dogs or cats.
5. Put meat and cooled broth into fridge.
6. Several hours later: When broth develops layer of grease on top, remove from fridge. Use slotted spoon to break off grease layer and remove from broth. Discard grease layer.
7. Strain broth through cheese cloth or fine strainer to remove bone bits, herbs, etc.
8. Chop veggies and return to crock pot with broth and chicken meat. Cook low for several hours or overnight.
9. Add greens, such as spinach or kale or beet greens or collard greens. About 30 minutes before eating add pasta or rice of choice. I prefer orzo.
10. Serve with grated parmesan cheese.
