Homemade Applesauce in My Crock Pot Tonight

"And what is the recipe?" you may well ask.

Ingredients:

A pile of tasty apples (i.e. skip the Red Delicious)
One slice lemon or orange or 1/4 juice 1 cup water
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Peel and core apples. I only quarter them.
Place in slow cooker on low.
Add other ingredients.
Allow to cook overnight.
Awaken to house smelling simply divine.

Cans very nicely via water bath canning. I am at 4K ft, so I allow 25 minutes at the boil. I use pint jars and make this by the ton when apples are in season. Use organics where you can.

Pears alone make a very bland sauce, but I have used pears, peaches, nectarines, raisins and all sorts of mixes to make this. Always works
